Milan Jovanovic goal, making the Germans think the extra strategy on the next game : Germany 0-1 Serbia

** Germany became the latest European misfortune team to suffer a reverse at the World Cup finals as Serbia beat them 1-0 in their Group D match here on Friday.

Serbia – who lost 1-0 to Ghana in their opening match – scored the only goal of the game a minute after Miroslav Klose’s red card through Milan Jovanovic in the 38th minute.

Germany had only themselves to blame for failing to follow up their opening 4-0 hammering of Australia with at least a point as Lukas Podolski – who squandered several great chances – had a penalty saved shortly before the hour mark.

Team Line-Ups:

Germany: Manuel Neuer, Arne Friedrich, Per Mertesacker, Philipp Lahm (C), Holger Badstuber (Mario Gomez 77), Sami Khedira, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Ozil (Cacau 70), Thomas Mueller (Marko Marin 70), Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose
