Ghana today became the first African country to win a match defeated Serbia in their first Group D


The Black Stars of Ghana today became the first African country to win a match when they defeated Serbia in their first Group D game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.

The lone goal was scored by Asamoah Gyan via a penalty kick after the Argentine Referee, Hector Baldassi awarded the penalty following Serbia's Zdravko Kuzmanovic handling of the ball in the box.
