Steven Gerrard scored the fastest goal, Clint Dempsey opportunities : England 1-1 USA

- Steven Gerrad

- Clint Dempsey

This proves the U.S. national team was a team to be reckoned with playing styles of superior team spirit resist.

The U.S. got a wakeup call only four minutes into the match. After a throw-in, Heskey got position on Jay DeMerit in the penalty area and slipped a short pass to an onrushing Steven Gerrard, who beat defensive midfielder Ricardo Clark and Howard.

Clint Dempsey offered an effort that was little more than luck from 25 yards, but Green hopelessly allowed the ball to squeeze through him and roll agonisingly over the line as he tried to recover.

This important moment for both teams in the next step.
