**Sunderland registered a vital Premier League victory over Birmingham at the Stadium of Light, Darren Bent grabbing a brace in a 3-1 win.

Sunderland claimed their second win in three games with a hard-fought victory over a spirited Birmingham.The Black Cats were ahead as early as the fifth minute courtesy of a neat finish from Darren Bent from six yards.

The England striker made it 1-0 just six minutes later, finishing well after being fed in by Steed Malbranque

It didn’t take long for Darren Bent add a second, only five minutes in fact, giving Sunderland a 2-0 lead with only ten minutes on the clock.

After missing one good chance and seeing another saved. Jerome finally saw one effort and make good, he shoot into the net on the left before he eventually brought his side back into the match on the hour.

Goal from Fraizer Campbell with two minutes remaining as Sunderland struck on the break.
