EVERTON 5
- Arteta 17,
- Arteta 39,
- Garcia (og) 51,
- Donovan 82,
- Rodwell 86

HULL CITY 1
- Cairney 32

**Everton instantly lost the momentum of their previous home victory, a resounding thumping of Manchester United, with successive defeats at Sporting in the Europa League and Tottenham last Sunday.

Everton broke the deadlock through their Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta. Osman found Yakubu on left wing, Brilliant 25-yard cross from Yakubu from wide on the left, and Arteta stabs it in at the far post. The midfielder volleyed the ball into the ground which bounced over the dive of Myhill and into the back of the net for his first goal of an injury-ravaged season.

Everton were made to pay for their penalty miss as Hull grabbed an equalising goal. Tom Cairney controlled the ball beautifully with his chest, knocked it up and hit a wonderful before unleashing a left foot shot.

Excellent work by Anichebe down the right and creates a chance for the Spaniard who scores with a cool, right-foot finish, steered around Myhill and into the right corner, 2-1 Everton lead. He's been the puppet-master today so far, a moment for Spanish midfielder.

In the 51st minute Everton did have their third goal thanks to an own goal from Garcia. Arteta's cross put the ball on the goalline and Garcia nodded it in. May have been the hat-trick but GArcia did bundle it over the line, 3-1 position for the host.

Everton scored their fourth goal of the game through the popular striker Donovan. A nice move down the left hand side released Baines who delivered a cross which found the American striker at the back post. The substitute controlled the ball before smashing it into the far corner of the net to pile on the misery for Hull City.

Great pass from Heitinga, curled into Donovan's feet on the right-side of the penalty area and he dinks a great pass to Rodwell who sweeps the ball into the goal

A great afternoon for Everton but disaster for Hull who are in the bottom three and next up welcome Arsenal to the KC Stadium.
