BENFICA 1
- Pereira 76
MARSEILLE 1
- Ben Arfa 90
**Benfica and Marseille battled to a score draw in the first leg of their Europa League last sixteen clash in Portugal.
Di Maria then missed probably Benfica’s best chance of the game. He had enough time and space to slot the ball into any part of the goal he wished. Instead he laced his foot through the ball and sent it flying over the crossbar.
Benfica eventually got their just rewards through Pereira just before 80 minutes. He broke through a crowd of defenders and managed to just nudge the ball past the on rushing goalkeeper.
Marseille piled on the pressure and responded in injury time through substitute, Hatem Ben Arfa. He managed to steer the ball in from range to grab a vital late away goal.
