Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland : The Blues Destroy Sunderland without the Africans

Chelsea 7
- Anelka 8,
- Malouda 17,
- Cole, A 22,
- Lampard 34,
- Ballack 52,
- Anelka 65,
- Lampard 90

Sunderland 2
- Zenden 56,
- Bent 90
Chelsea maintained their slender lead at the top of the Barclays Premier league by hitting sorry Sunderland for seven at Stamford Bridge.

Against opponents as subordinate as Sunderland they could even have sacrificed a handful of Europeans as well as the Africans who are on international duty in Angola and still cruised to victory.

Chelsea were now playing some vintage stuff and moments later Ashley Cole was only denied a second by Fulop's outstretched hands.

But Chelsea still dominated and in the 50th minute, Fulop had to tip a shot from Anelka onto the crossbar and post to prevent the home side scoring a fifth.

It was a whirlwind finish to a match filled with goalmouth action, a suitable way for Chelsea to mark their 350th Premier League win - a feat only Manchester United and Arsenal have previously achieved

Lineup

Sunderland: Fülöp, Bardsley, Cana, da Silva, McCartney, Malbranque, Henderson, Meyler, Murphy, Bent, Jones
